Problem Note 58958: SAS® Anti-Money Laundering risk factor scenarios SAS10032, SAS10033, SAS10034, and SAS10035 might not be triggered, due to incorrect scenario logic

DetailsAboutRate It

The following risk factor scenario codes in SAS Anti-Money Laundering contain incorrect conditions that might prevent the scenarios from being triggered correctly:

  • SAS10032 - New Customer
  • SAS10033 - Politically Exposed Person (PEP) Indicator
  • SAS10034 - Recent Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) Activity
  • SAS10035 - Recent Currency Transaction Report (CTR) Activity

The "if-then" condition in the source code for each scenario should be corrected as follows:

  • SAS10032 - New Customer
    Incorrect: if customer_since_date >= p10032_cutoff_date then goto &sysmacroname.;
    Correct: if customer_since_date < p10032_cutoff_date then goto &sysmacroname.;
  • SAS10033 - Politically Exposed Person (PEP) Indicator
    Incorrect: if upcase(politically_exposed_person_ind) in (&p10033_pep) then goto &sysmacroname.;
    Correct: if upcase(politically_exposed_person_ind) not in (&p10033_pep) then goto &sysmacroname.;
  • SAS10034 - Recent Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) Activity
    Incorrect: if last_susp_actv_rpt_date >= p10034_bdate then goto &sysmacroname.;
    Correct: if last_susp_actv_rpt_date < p10034_bdate then goto &sysmacroname.;
  • SAS10035 - Recent Currency Transaction Report (CTR) Activity
    Incorrect: if last_cash_trans_rpt_date >= p10035_bdate then goto &sysmacroname.;
    Correct: if last_cash_trans_rpt_date < p10035_bdate then goto &sysmacroname.;
